We are delighted to announce that rugby legend Paul Grayson and his wife Emma are to become new Patrons for Home-Start Northampton.
Home-Start Northampton has been working in the town for over 35 years. We are a voluntary organisation committed to promoting the welfare of families with at least one child under five years of age. Volunteers offer regular support, friendship and practical help to families under stress, in their own homes, helping to prevent family crisis and breakdown. Our support is informal, friendly and confidential. Home-Start supports parents to grow in confidence, strengthen their relationships with their children and widen their links within the local community.
Paul and Emma have three children, James and twins Joel and Ethan, and know the work that raising three children brings, especially with twins!
During his playing career Paul won the Heineken Cup with Northampton Saints, was a member of the victorious British & Irish Lions squad in 1997 and a World Cup winner with England in 2003. After retiring as a player, Paul spent some years in management at Northampton Saints and now works in the media.
Paul and Emma said “As parents of three boys including twins, we are well aware of the increased workload that a multiple birth brings and know how important an extra pair of hands and a listening ear can be at these times. We learned about the valuable work Home-Start does in Northampton through friends and felt that this fitted our ethos. As such we are delighted to become patrons of this charity and look forward to helping generate a greater awareness and raise much needed funds required to provide this valuable service in Northampton”.
